Congratulations to Paul Luis Trevino and Nicole Banda Garza who won the two spots open for TISD School Board in the election this past weekend! After canvassing the votes, they were sworn in to begin their terms at the board meeting tonight.
Reorganization of the Board also occurred this evening. Our officers for the upcoming year are as follows:

Congratulations to our new inductees in the Taft High School National Honor Society who were recognized in a ceremony this evening! Current officers also introduced their successors who will serve the organization in 2025-2026. All of these these do an outstanding job exhibiting the four pillars of NHS--scholarship, service, leadership and character.
Congratulations to the Top 15 students in the Taft High School Class of 2025 and the Hero Teachers who they selected to be recognized at tonight's Celebration of Excellence! Students, teachers and family members enjoyed a banquet in honor of these successful seniors and the educators who made a lasting impact on their long road to graduation. Special thanks to the Taft Education Foundation who provided the scholarships for our seniors and our Child Nutrition workers & SFE staff who provided the dinner this evening. #TaftPride
Thank you to all of our district staff members, law enforcement officers, first responders, students and community members who joined us today for Taft ISD Spring Safety & Security meeting! We value the time that you share with us to provide feedback and updates to improve emergency responses on our campuses and in our community. At this meeting, we especially appreciate our students who joined to give their input on how to keep our campuses safe. Taft High School P-TECH students visited Ricardo L. Treviño Junior High School 8th graders this morning to discuss benefits and opportunities through the Architecture & Health Science pathways in the P-TECH Academy. This event kicked off the beginning of the spring registration process for 8th graders for the 2025-2026 school year.
Congratulations to our Taft FFA and Jr. FFA members who were recognized at the Board Meeting tonight! These students represented Taft High School, Ricardo L. Treviño Junior High School and Woodroe Petty Elementary during the San Patricio/Aransas County A&H Show last week. We are very proud of all of your determination, drive and efforts that you displayed with your projects! Best of luck the rest of the show season!
Congratulations to Taft High School Greyhound Band member, Antonio Maldonado, who performed with the TMEA All State Band in a concert this Saturday in San Antonio. Tony earned a spot in the All State Band after superior auditions at the area and regional levels! #TaftPride
