Reminder that Taft ISD students will not have school on Friday, September 18th, due to a scheduled Staff Development Day on the academic calendar. Classes will resume at normal times on Monday, September 21st. #TPND
Taft ISD Bond Update--September 14, 2026
Brick continue to be laid on the exterior of the gym at the new high school. Steel beams are being placed in the roof of the auditorium on the opposite side of the work site. Paving is also continuing in the back part of the construction site for the service drives and bus loops which will allow vehicles to get in and out of the site more conveniently.
Fence poles are up at the tennis courts with work to begin on the courts soon. Interior work at the concession stand/restrooms also continues at the baseball & softball fields. #TPND

Taft ISD Food Pantry Open Today, Wednesday, Sept. 9th from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.

Taft ISD Public Update: Minor Rooftop Fire Handled
At approximately 9:30pm on Thursday, September 3rd, a mop left inside a roofing asphalt bucket caught fire on the rooftop of the new high school building currently under construction. The fire was quickly contained. First responders thoroughly inspected the rest of the roof and confirmed the area is safe and secure.
We extend our sincere thanks to the Sheriff’s Office, local law enforcement, and the fire department for their rapid response.

This is the first update that includes interior images of the new high school campus. Walls on the auditorium are nearly complete and the roofing system should be added soon. #TPND

We’re teaming up for the Peanut Butter Bowl, and we need our Woodroe Elementary Petty Pups, RLTJHS Whippets and THS Greyhound families to help Taft WIN!
Look for the Peanut Butter Bowl collection bins at the front entrance of each campus starting Wednesday or stop by the Field House for donation drop off.
Bring a jar (or more!) of peanut butter, drop into the collection bins.
