Angelita Lopez, Assistant Superintendent

Mrs. Angelita Lopez has 24 years of experience serving as a teacher at the secondary level, high school assistant principal, high school and elementary principal, and currently as Taft ISD Assistant Superintendent. During her educational career, she has placed an emphasis on empowering others to meet the growing needs of staff and students in order to support academic growth and success.  She has provided campus level support as an administrator for 19 years. 

During her time as a campus administrator, she implemented various programs and models that promoted instructional innovations, data-driven practices, school-community relationships, special education support and intervention supports for students, Capturing Kids' Hearts, Restorative Practices, and Post-Secondary Readiness. 

Mrs. Lopez holds a Master’s Degree in Educational School Leadership and a Bachelor’s Degree in Science with a major in Biology and minor in Chemistry. She is certified to teach Biology and also holds a Principal Certification and Superintendent Certification.
