Texas Parents Now Have New Rights to Better Support Their Children’s Learning SB 1697 allows parents to elect for their child to restart kindergarten or repeat a course or grade
AUSTIN, Texas – July 22, 2021 – Given the disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic throughout the 2020-21 school year, the Texas Legislature passed SB 1697 to give parents new rights to determine whether their children should repeat a course or grade. This is just one of several new rights the 87th Legislature granted to Texas parents for the upcoming school year. The Texas Education Agency (TEA) is compiling resources for parents to support this and other decisions they may have the opportunity to make; for more information, parents can visit: www.tea.texas.gov/parents.
Skyward Family Access will be available for online registration for returning students starting Monday, July 12, 2021, until Friday, August 20, 2021. Parents will be able to register their children from home, work, or by coming on our registration days. Registration for all new and returning students will be held on Monday, July 19, 2021, and Tuesday. July 20, 2021, at the Woodroe Petty Elementary from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m
Taft ISD will cancel classes on Tuesday, February 16, 2021, due to hazardous road conditions caused by wet, wintry weather and continued power outages that may affect Remote Learning Plans.

Taft ISD cancelará las clases el martes 16 de febrero de 2021 debido a las condiciones peligrosas de la carretera causadas por el clima húmedo e invernal y los continuos cortes de energía que pueden afectar los planes de aprendizaje remoto.
