Taft ISD Communication Device Policy for 2025-2026
Taft ISD, along with all Texas school districts, are implementing policies in response to Texas House Bill 1481 which prohibits use of communication devices in schools during the instructional day. We ask parents to talk to their children about this new policy to prepare for the upcoming school year. Parents can contact administrators at Taft High School, Ricardo L. Treviño Junior High School or Woodroe Petty Elementary for questions about this policy.

Taft ISD is closely monitoring weather forecasts for the possibility of inclement weather this weekend. At this time, we have some cancellations of school events on Saturday, but no changes have been made at this time for next week's school schedule. As we continue to monitor forecasts, we will update parents, students and staff through our app, social media, website and text notifications if any changes are made to the schedule next Monday. Thank you for your cooperation and please stay safe this weekend!

Congratulations to all of our students from Woodroe Petty Elementary, Ricardo L. Treviño Junior High School and Taft High School, who participated in the Extra Special Show today at the San Patricio & Aransas County A&H Show this morning! Students had the opportunity to show animals and meet with judges through the assistance of volunteer handlers.
They all received trophies and had their pictures taken with Queen's contestants afterwards. Huge thanks to all of the workers at today's events and all of our parents who joined us to make this event exciting and memorable for our students!
