School Resource Officer (S.R.O.)

The School Resource Officer Program is designed to serve as a resource and to provide law enforcement assistance to the student and staff of the district and it's community. Through interaction with the students and staff, the program develops more positive rapport with the police officers, and an understanding of law enforcement and the criminal justice system. The students learn through interaction with us that we are not just police officers, but are normal people who care and will go that extra step for them. We provide intervention/prevention techniques and programs to help prevent crimes against persons and property, address law related issues, and create and maintain a positive bond between law enforcement and students. As a Texas State Peace Officer we are still charged with enforcing municipal, county, state, and federal ordinances and laws as well as policies, directives and standards of the district.
